Memory Lane Heritage Village

Welcome to the Eastern Shore Cold Waters Seafood Festival! Located on the grounds of Memory Lane Heritage Village in Lake Charlotte, 45 minutes outside Halifax along Nova Scotia’s beautiful Eastern Shore.

Due to the ongoing concerns around the spread of Covid-19, and with the understanding that our events rely on a large input of volunteer assistance, Memory Lane Heritage Village has made the difficult decision to cancel all currently scheduled 2020 events until the end of August, including the Cold Waters Seafood Festival. We were looking forward to filling our boots with local seafood and getting stuffed to the gills with you all, but this decision was made to ensure the safety of our vendors, volunteers, staff, and visitors.

So please, stay safe and mark your calendars for June 2021 when we will be diving right back in again. And if you can't wait until then, be sure to support your local seafood servers, harvesters, and fishers this summer!

The cold clear waters of the Eastern Shore yield some of the best seafood in the province and this is your chance to sample it at its freshest: Lobsters, Mussels, Clams, and Haddock served a variety of ways, along with traditional foods such as Chowder, Fishcakes and Beans, and Hot-Smoked Fish.

Join in the family activities and skills demonstrations such as paint-your-own-buoy, dory rides, net knitting, and lobster trap building. Enjoy free samples of heritage recipes such as Solomon Gundy, and Herring and Potatoes.

This is a rain or shine event. If it rains we will move inside, get cozy by the woodstove, and eat seafood! So come East for some great eats, live music and family fun.
